Aftercare laser treatment

After laser treatment your skin often feels smooth, but also slightly more sensitive. This is perfectly normal. Proper aftercare helps keep the result beautiful and prevents unnecessary irritation. Yet many questions remain afterwards. Can you go out in the sun? Is showering safe? And what exactly should you avoid? At La Casey we guide you step by step, even after treatment.

Why aftercare is important for your skin

Immediately after treatment the skin is slightly heated and extra sensitive. This means that you should leave the skin alone so as not to disturb its recovery. Proper care prevents irritation and contributes to a beautiful final result. So aftercare is not an afterthought, but an important part of the whole process. What you do in the first hours and days helps determine how quickly and calmly the skin recovers.

Can you go in the sun or under a sunbed after laser treatment?

Exposure to UV light is not recommended after laser treatment. The skin is temporarily more fragile and may react more strongly to sunlight or the sunbed. Therefore, avoid direct sunlight on the treated area for at least a week. In addition, when doing outdoor activities, always use sunscreen with a high protection factor. Sun on recently lasered skin can in fact lead to pigmentation or irritation. At La Casey, we recommend approaching sun and tanning beds with care throughout the treatment process.

What you should know about heat sources after laser treatment

For the first 24 hours after treatment, it is best to avoid all sources of heat. Think of hot showers, baths, saunas and intensive sports. Swimming is also not recommended, as the chemicals in the water can irritate the skin. Therefore, opt for a short lukewarm shower during this time and wear airy clothes. This will prevent overheating and give the skin time to recover calmly and evenly.

Is it safe to shave or wax after treatment?

Shaving between treatments is allowed but often not necessary. After all, hair growth soon decreases. Leave your skin alone for a few days after each treatment. Waxing, plucking or waxing are not allowed during the entire procedure. These methods remove the hair with the hair follicle, making laser treatment ineffective. Only shaving keeps the hair structure intact and ensures that each follow-up treatment remains effective.

What side effects can you expect?

After treatment, you may experience some redness or slight swelling, especially around the hair follicles. This is a normal reaction and usually disappears within a few hours. In some cases, the skin may feel a little warm or tense. This too is temporary and part of the natural recovery. Do not scratch your skin and avoid using perfumed products. Give your skin a chance to calm down in a clean and irritant-free environment.

Good aftercare makes all the difference

Do not use scrubs, perfumes or products containing alcohol on the treated area for the first few days. Keep the skin dry and clean and opt for a soothing gel or neutral cream if the skin feels tight. Also, avoid make-up on lasered areas in the first 24 hours. Drink plenty of water and protect your skin from the sun with a high SPF. This will support recovery and keep the results visible for a long time.

At La Casey, we take aftercare as seriously as the treatment itself. You will receive clear instructions and personal guidance so that your skin recovers peacefully and you can look forward to the final result with confidence.
